NaNoWriMo – Day Twenty-One

November 21, 2014 By Christina E. Pilz

I have no idea what I just wrote. I do know that I packed 4,396 words, which is the most words I’ve written in one day, in a long time. And, incidentally, I hit 100,278 total words today.

I credit my newly burgeoning habit of writing every day, thanks to NaNoWriMo, and my supportive friends, and the fact that today is Friday, and I had time before I wrote to relax a little bit.

Back when I wrote a lot, it was not uncommon for me to hit 2,000 words on most days, and 3,000 on two or three days a week. So to get back to that realm is amazing and awesome. I want to keep going like this, even after NaNoWriMo is over, because it feels good to write and to get inside the story.

As for Oliver and Jack, the scene on the Devil’s Bellows (also known as the Charmouth Cutting) finally happened. You remember, the one I talked about and got all excited about when I got my Mac mini? Yeah, that one.

The Devils Bellows

Day Fifteen  – 2,168

Day Sixteen – 2,559

Day Seventeen – 1,743

Day Eighteen – 2,101

Day Nineteen – 1795

Day Twenty – 1978

Day Twenty-One – 4,396

The following video was developed by Soomo Learning, a company that develops interactive textbooks and other training materials. I love the fact that they took the subject of women’s suffrage and joined it to a song by a powerful woman artist, Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga creates, through her music and videos, an edgy look at the world, and the outlandish costumes (which are very effective), along with the subtle undertones, means that everything is open to interpretation; everything that Lady Gaga does is both unique and has a personal feel to it. And, I’ll wager that she was classy enough to let Soomo Learning do a cover of her song for nothing.
