NaNoWriMo – Day Thirty

November 30, 2014 By Christina E. Pilz

I did it! And here is my reward! Ta da!

The hardest part of doing NaNoWriMo was about 75% of the way in, when I felt as though I was running out of words. But I was assured by Wendy that there are always more words and so I soldiered on.

The second hardest part was finding something interesting to add to the post at the end of my word count. Luckily, I’m a regular on Tumblr, and they’ve got all kinds of good stuff out there. Too much sometimes! It was often very tempting to just stay in Tumblr-land and zone out.

Here’s the final word count:

Day One – 1,998

Day Two – 2,122

Day Three – 1,820

Day Four – 1,820

Day Five – 1,930

Day Six – 1,601

Day Seven – 1,729

Day Eight – 2,363

Day Nine – 2,175

Day Ten – 1,782

Day Eleven – 2,124

Day Twelve – 2,008

Day Twelve – 2,008

Day Thirteen – 1,776

Day Fourteen – 1,231

Day Fifteen  – 2,168

Day Sixteen – 2,559

Day Seventeen – 1,743

Day Eighteen – 2,101

Day Nineteen – 1795

Day Twenty – 1978

Day Twenty-One – 4,396

Day Twenty-Two – 2,477

Day Twenty-Three – 1,753

Day Twenty-Four – 1,502

Day Twenty-Five – 2,348

Day Twenty-Six – 1,930

Day Twenty-Seven – 2.023

Day Twenty-Eight – 1,742

Day Twenty-Nine – 1,991

Day Thirty – 1,938

Total – 59,435 (unless my math is off which is entirely possible!)

And to end the way I started, here is a cute video by Kristina Horner, as she reports in each day about her NaNoWriMo progress. My favorite bits is where a guy off-screen asks her, “Hey, Kristina, how many words did you write today?” And she sort of hangs her head and looks sad. I can totally relate!
