I Want It That Way

April 6, 2015 By Christina E. Pilz

Spending far too much time scrolling through youtube is one of my vices. I freely admit it. But, at the same time, I really do find some amazingly amusing stuff out there, too, and have determined to share the joy.

The following vid is called A Day at the Office. I found it while looking for something else, but when I watched it, it made me laugh, and yes, damn it, it made me actually sing along. I now know, much to my surprise, and to the surprise of anyone who knows me, most of the words, and can fake it fairly well singing along to the words that I don’t know.

The vid seems to be filmed in an office when a set of co-workers determine that they will film themselves lip synching to “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. They will do it in one take, and then, as it appears, they edited it afterwards. Either they were bored or stressed, either way the result is hilarious.

I’m not sure who my favorite character is, but I guess that depends on the day. On some days, it’s Ponytail Girl, the one who doesn’t participate and is just trying to get her work done, in spite of the ruckus going on around her. On other days, it’s Long Haired Girl, who’s got an on-screen presence that many would be envious of. Of the guys, they’re all cute and funny and they just get into it. And the more the song goes on, the more each of them, guys and gals, have their inhibitions come down. It’s completely fun to watch.
