NaNoWriMo – Day Eighteen

November 18, 2014 By Christina E. Pilz

First I futzed around with Pintrest, then I futzed around with Facebook (I know, right?), then I futzed for a good long time on Tumblr. In between times, I futzed with my email. And then my other email. Then I went back to Tumblr. By the time I should be relaxing for the day, I realized I’d not yet written my words for the day. It was indeed tempting to slink off and not do it. But then I thought, oh, I’ll just right for a second or two, and then stop.

But then, I didn’t stop. I got my word count in! And nothing else got done around the house.

Here’s the current word count:

Day One – 1,998

Day Two – 2,122

Day Three – 1,820

Day Four – 1,820

Day Five – 1,930

Day Six – 1,601

Day Seven – 1,729

Day Eight – 2,363

Day Nine – 2,175

Day Ten – 1,782

Day Eleven – 2,124

Day Twelve – 2,008

Day Thirteen – 1,776

Day Fourteen – 1,231

Day Fifteen  – 2,168

Day Sixteen – 2,559

Day Seventeen – 1,743

Day Eighteen – 2,101

The following is spoken poetry that is a zing-fest of the first order. Ernie Cline calls his collection of poetry The Spoken Word. You can access all of his poems here, but luckily, someone was kind enough to upload one of my favorites to youtube. I now present you with “The Geek Wants Out.” (My other favorites are “Airwolf” and “”)
