Guillaume Lorentz Makes Me Happy

July 6, 2014 By Christina E. Pilz

When I’ve had just about as much 4th of July as I can manage (and it’s quite a bit), and my taste for BBQ has been satiated, and my drinking beer in the shade needs have been met, then I’m quite ready to have my summer move on to being just summer. As if summer were “just” anything – it’s a warm time, with lots of sun, and afternoon thunderstorms, and sandals, and you can eat ice cream with impunity.

Also, it’s a time to be happy, because there’s nothing better than taking a nap on a warm summer afternoon, when the whole house fan is making that wonderful white noise and creating a breeze that skims over your skin, and the whole thing lulls you to sleep.

But. Then there is this guy, Guillaume Lorentz, who I discovered (well, stumbled across would be a better term) while scrolling around the internet. He’s a dancer and choreographer, and watching him makes me want to move.

In this particular video, he doesn’t wear dancing clothes, doesn’t hide his expression of glee and joy behind some mask of “I’m too cool to be enjoying this,” no. He wears regular guy jeans, and basket ball sneakers, and bounces around the streets of what must be some town in Japan, and dances his heart out, him and his dancing pals, and it just makes me smile and want to go outside and make a fool of myself.

And, as well, just to be honest here, I really enjoy watching this video because Mr. Lorentz’s jeans are really tight and he’s got very nice thighs. And a cute smile. And he dances good. And he makes me happy.
