Bookfly Design Does It Good

October 19, 2015 By Christina E. Pilz

James Egan at Bookfly Design does so many beautiful covers that it’s hard to chose which is his best work. I’m partial to the ones that James designs for my books, but that wouldn’t surprise anybody, I reckon.

Last weekend I was at a writer’s retreat, and had brought my three books to sign and to sell, and got many, many, many comments from writers and readers on how beautiful James’ covers were. I sent all of that praise James Egan’s way, since it was he that did all the work. (I merely drooled over his initial drafts, and James cleverly took that as consent that I liked them.)

In September, I entered his most recent cover for the book Oliver & Jack: In Axminster Workhouse in The Book Designer’s monthly cover contest, and wouldn’t you know it? Bookfly Design was given the September 2015 Award for Best Fiction Ebook Cover.

Congratulations to James Egan of Bookfly Design!!!

In addition, the cover was mentioned in two blogs, with nothing but praise. One was from Covertopia, which designs fantastic covers for fantastic authors, and the other one was from Flashlight Commentary, a website that does literary reviews from a late-night reader. All kudos go to Bookfly Designs!

Thank you, Wendy. I was somewhat blown away at the response to the cover at GRL. I mean, I loved it, but that was me. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in loving James’ work.

James is awesome. And it’s a beautiful cover. Congratulations to both of you! And thank you for referring me to him. We start work on my next cover in about two weeks.

Yes, he is awesome and I’m pleased for both him and me, because that’s a lot of exposure for both of us. I’m glad to hear that he’s working for you as well; I’ll look forward to your new cover!
